Design Matters
Talking at conferences has always been a big goal of mine, but I didn’t imagine this would come true so soon. In June 2023, I spoke at Design Matters Tokyo about my creative journey, and in September, I had another opportunity to speak at Design Matters Copenhagen. I had an amazing time sharing insights about finding an art style and the importance of personal projects in digital design.
But that's not all! I was also given the chance to create a short opening video for the event. The Design Matters team was incredibly open to my ideas, so I spent a lot of time brainstorming and ultimately created this piece. The goal of the video was to express the diversity and inclusiveness of Design Matters as an event. The topics they cover are broad—ranging from the future of design, to the environmental impact designers can have, to the history of graphic design.
In this video, I wanted to capture the wide spectrum of disciplines Design Matters embraces, such as UI design, graphic design, web design, and motion design, as well as the creative process behind them.

Making
I made these images to share my experience working on the opening video, particularly on the storyboarding/planning side. Although I mentioned, 'I had fun making this animation,' it wasn't just fun, I STRUGGLED a lot for weeks.
