CUBITTS : The Shameless Fund

The goal of this project was to create a launch animation video for the Loomis frames — a new sunglasses collaboration between Cubitts and the Shameless Fund. It was a particularly meaningful and enjoyable project for several reasons.

First, it was for charity. I truly value opportunities to contribute to projects that support a meaningful cause and align with what I believe in.

Second, it involved collaborating with Jonathan Bailey — and honestly, who wouldn’t be excited about that?

The Shameless Fund, founded by Jonathan Bailey, is dedicated to supporting LGBTQ+ individuals in living openly and without shame. I was invited to take part in this project by the London-based creative studio Rascal, and it was an absolute pleasure to work on.

Making

This wasn’t a typical product launch film filled with glossy, dramatic slow-motion shots. In our very first meeting, Jonathan came in with a wonderfully playful idea inspired by those classic sunflower toys — the kind you might find at your grandmother’s house, or ones your baby might adore. He wanted these sunflowers to embody boldness: characters that don’t care what others think, who simply dance and enjoy life. That idea became the heart of the video.

My role began with developing the design of the flowers. What kind of expressions should they have? Should we introduce different color variations? We knew they needed a variety of body types so each one could move in its own unique way. And even though they were stylised flower toys, their movements still needed to feel believable within that world.
